DETROIT (AP) - Michael Moore, who assailed General Motors in his 1989 satirical documentary "Roger & Me," is having a more pleasant time with another corporate giant.
Miramax, a division of the Walt Disney Co., announced Thursday it will distribute Moore's latest documentary, "The Big One," and will donate half its net profits to various charities in Flint, Michigan, Moore's hometown.
Miramax will immediately donate $100,000 to Flint community programs. Moore called the deal a "perfect example of what corporate America should be doing."
"The Big One," which will be released next year, was filmed during the three months Moore spent promoting "Downsize This: Random Threats from an Unarmed American," his book that disputes the notion that the United States has made an economic recovery.
Moore said the possible payout to his hometown "could be in the millions."
